We have a situation where we are replacing a TDM keyphone system and
have a need for distinctive ring when a call comes from another internal
handset (i.e registered locally instead of coming in via a gateway) - Is
there any way to achieve this using sipX at present?
After taking a quick look at the Polycom admin guide

I would think the easiest way would be to set the value for <rt> in the
directory XML file to a different value for a locally added user - I
don't really want to have to manually edit every configuration though.
I found a message on the list

to do with distinctive ring sent early last year with a diff file
attached, but I'd like to stay with community built sipX version rather
than building my own.
Anyone have any pointers about where to go from here?
