Yes, I don't think anyone is suggesting a physical port on sipx.

Any patton or gateway would sit at the branch and be physically connected to
the seimens.

I should have been more clear on my question. Its not a theoretical how do you
connect sipx to another switch. We have about 25 sipx installs connecting to
avaya and cisco pbx's.

I'm wondering about the specific siemens sip implementation.

The question is:

Has anyone used the sip trunk feature to integrate with sipx. This is pure IP
to IP. There is no physical FXO/FXS ports. This becomes an interop question
for how well Siemens adheres to sip.

I note the scenario of using a patton FXO to get around any sip trunk issues to
the siemens, but using an FXO means a lower level in integration. From what
seimens is telling us that paging, whisper page, barge in would not work if we
use an FXO or or T1/E1 interface. We would need to use the sip trunk module
to accomplish this.

And the client doesn't want to invest more money into purchasing another leagcy
card for thier siemens when they are committed to sipx. So we want to use the
sip trunk if we can....unless someone has tried and was sent running for the
door.

Which brings me back to....does anyone have any working knowledge of siemens
sip module to know how well it interops with sipx.
