_____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Scheidell Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2011 11:11 PM To: [email protected] users Subject: [sipx-users] attended transfer fails under certain conditions sipx 4.2.0. mixture of phones, polycom 650, grandstream, and cisco 7960's. All latest firmware. outbound call, direct to DID, answered by phone, then transferred to internal extension. blind transfers all work. attended transfers fail under these conditions: inbound DID to cisco, xfer to poly. fails. inbound DID to cisco, xfer to GS, works inbound DID to GS, xfer to cisco, works. inbound DID to GS, xfer to poly, works. inbound DID to poly, xfer to cisco, works. inbound DID to poly, xfer to GS works. only one that fails is inbound DID to cisco, xfer to poly. did this on poly fw 3.13c and newest 3.2.4. who is at fault? cisco? poly? something sipx took for granted on the cisco and/or poly? cisco's are defaulting to G.711, both poly and GS are defaulting to G.722. what happens: inbound cisco, attended transfer. caller hears MOH, (G.711 trunk), person on poly hears cisco user. cisco user compleats transfer, gets 'transfer failed'. poly user sees call drop. NOTE: doing this cisco to cisco is 'funky' also, to say the least. if you watch the recipient cisco when this happens, you see the call drop upon transfer (screen shows NO CALL AT ALL) for 500ms. then you see the caller magically appear. is sipx dropping the call and trying to send re-invites? are these failing due to some timing issue on poly? cisco? cisco crap? bad firmware? get polycom phones? that have their own firmware issues? All phones are cap, all firmware is crap, you just need to make them work. -- Michael Scheidell, CTO o: 561-999-5000 d: 561-948-2259 ISN: 1259*1300 > | SECNAP Network Security Corporation * Certified SNORT Integrator * 2008-9 Hot Company Award Winner, World Executive Alliance * Five-Star Partner Program 2009, VARBusiness * Best in Email Security,2010: Network Products Guide * King of Spam Filters, SC Magazine 2008 _____ This email has been scanned and certified safe by SpammerTrap®.
