I would agree that ipv6 offers one thing at this time that is not as
readily available as it was a few years ago... IP space.

That being a known issue, the best place to implement ipv6 is at the
edge router, but this would be a dual stack where your router would
convery to ipv4 internally, until such a time as the gateways,
endpoints and ITSP's also offer ipv6.

While I think it's a good idea to have a plan, I don't see the point
in building something if noone is coming for 2 or 3 years.

Does anyone know when ipv6 will be available on gateways and phones
too? Not to mention wireless dect/802.11 wifi base units for handheld
devices? Or iphone/androids for sip apps?

I understand the need to move to ipv6. I simply am not sure being
there really does anything if all the registrations and gateways
"aren't" there anytime soon.
