A couple of tricks that are possible that might help in different
situations:

Using SRV records for gateway selection?

I've not tested this yet but should be possible.


I have done this... Make DNS at the remote select the local gateway first...
 ie.,

site 1:

gw1.sip.domain = 192.168.1.10
gw2.sip.domain = 192.168.2.10

site 2:

gw1.sip.domain = 192.168.2.10
gw2.sip.domain = 192.168.1.10
