Hi Max,
Just so you know it can be done, I too use Linksys SPAs (SPA2102s
though, not the older PAP2T--I'm not sure how well those work) and use an ITSP
that runs Metaswitch. I also get data and phone service from the same vendor,
as you do, although this vendor (Finger Lakes Technology Group in central NY)
provisioned a second independent fiber to segregate out the phone traffic from
the data.
My particular setup does not use ITSP registration, but authenticates based on
IP address of my server. They give me an IP address for their proxy server,
which I put in the "address" field of the sipx gateway config. They are able
to send calls to me on port 5080.
