You *REALLY* should update.

4.0.1 has a *LOT* of other issues. Hundreds, possibly even thousands of bugs
have been fixed and many new features have been added since 4.0.1. The
upgrade path is pretty safe. We recently upgraded a very large customer from
4.0.5 > 4.2.1 > 4.4.0 with no real problems to speak of. This update also
allows you to use newer Polycom firmwares (3.2.4revB) which resolve a lot of
issues too.

Not many people on this list have a 4.0.x testbed laying around, if any.
