All - just a heads up - we had issues with directed call-pickup, the solution
was to disable passing the caller-id name (inbound). Not sure if anyone else
has/is experiencing this problem or if there is a way around it. I justed
emailed Patton tech support to see if there is a solution.

Steve - Let me recap...

We had issues with directed call pickup (dialing *78,ext) would not pickup the
call. You found the problem (#79241), the problem is, this disables caller-id
with name (#82499). So is it fair to say that I must choose which feature I
need the most? Directed call pickup for inbound caller-id? Let me know if you
can think of a way to make these two items live together...

Thanks,
Nathaniel

Subject: [Support #79241]: Directed Call Pickup is failing

====== Please reply above this line ======
I'm not sure if I'm onto something or not, but I do see a difference in the
successful versus failed call examples:

On the successful pickup, Patton receives an advice of charge (AOC) from the
"telco" (NEC) at the time we send a connect message. This would be the connect
to put ext5001 together with originator 3013341948. We then send the connect to
the NEC:

16:38:27 ICC > [EP IF_PRI_2-01690e18] AOC-S Net << Call Connected
16:38:27 ICC > [EP IF_PRI_2-01690e18] >> [080007]
CONNECT (NI2 Ntwk)
[1E028182]
Progress indicator : destination address is non-ISDN
private network serving local user - CCITT

On the FAILED example, there is no AOC from the telco (Verizon) since we don't
normally use AOC in the U.S. We still send a connect to Verizon:

16:17:07 ICC > [EP IF_PRI_1-016ca610] >> [080007]
CONNECT (NI2 User)
[1E028582]
Progress indicator : destination address is non-ISDN
private network serving remote user - CCITT

Then we send a facility:
FACILITY (NI2 User)
[1C1C9FA11902010102010080114E617468616E69656C205761746B696E73]
Facility : Invoke : invokeid: 00000001
global operation
invoke {
present = 1
local = 0
argumentnamePresentationAllowedSimple = 'Nathaniel Watkins'

Verizon responds to the Connect with an ack:
16:17:07 ICC > [IF_PRI_1] << Message: primitive=59
16:17:07 ICC > [EP IF_PRI_1-016ca610] << [08000F]
CONNECT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (NI2 User)

and then Verizon sends a disconnect:
16:17:07 ICC > [EP IF_PRI_1-016ca610] << [080045]
DISCONNECT (NI2 User)
[08028090]
Cause : normal call clearing
user - CCITT - Q.931

Check on the web interface to the Patton under: Telephony / Call-Router / ISDN
Interface IF_PRI_1, then look at the lower section and see if the Accept/Emit
button is checked in the Caller Name section. If it is, uncheck it and try the
call again. If it is unchecked, then it is not the issue, and I'll continue to
investigate.
