I've never met an Aastra I didn't replace. Actually, I have a site that uses several of them, though I had to alter the template to include all of the time zones the device supported because the sipxconfig template did not have their zone(s) in it. I have only been able to use it as a local phone and have heard no complaints, but the site has a mix of cisco/linksys, polycom and aastra, and has caused phone envy since the polycom's have EFK templates employed and are thus easier to use. Hence, the Aastra and Cisco (actually linksys) phones are being revolved out of service.
I think if you were to look at it closely, I'm not sure the buck is worth the bang. I seem to recall we couldn't reprovision the phones (Aastra) remotely, etc. and found them slightly less useable, but that was my last interaction with Aastra devices. I prefer to try to keep a single manufacturer for desktop phones, because there are fewer operability issues and training is easier. But thats just me being me.
