You can route incoming calls to:

Users (ring)
Hunt groups (ring)
Auto Attendant (greeting message followed by caller pressing
options)

You can also send the call the an ACD system, which means
people have to be logged into the ACD. The ACD will play
"moh" (music on hold). It's really designed to be more call
center-like. The existing ACD is rather limited and would
not work well for an attendant. The OpenACD integration is a
work in progress, but again, the call flow and procedure for
an attendant might be too much to ask of a receptionist
(IMO).
