sipXecs only uses FreeSWITCH as a media server to process media. Voicemail and auto-attendant applications are part of sipXecs, but use FS to process the media files. sipXecs also uses FS conferencing. All other components are sipXecs. The architecture of the two systems is quite different, where we look at FS as a component. --martin

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Organization: SipXecs Forum X-FUDforum: 08063afcdd00a6e76393c5b9527381e8 <63923> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Sorry for the newbie question, but could someone explain how sipxecs and Freeswitch are related? Freeswitch seems to have more capability than sipxecs. For example Freeswitch does h.323 and has a billing module but sipxecs doesn't. If sipxecs is built using Freeswitch, why are the capabilities different? What does the sipxecs piece do and what does Freeswitch piece do? I guess I'm looking for info on how they fit together. Thanks.
