No clues... you have to remember to provide the following:

What sipx version? What phone? Is g822 a preferred codec (order list)?

What you should expect: If you phone negotiates G722 with the IVR (4.4) it
will say HD on it (depending on the phone). You can leave yourself a
message and play it back, even though it says HD, it was originally sampled
(prompts) in 8000. There is no way to up sample something from 8000 to
16000 and actually do anything worthwhile with the quality (IMO). The phone
will request 16000 but the FS media engine will playback (and record) in
8000. This is the designed behavior.

I think what you are seeing is the standard behavior. As for SPEEX, that
would more likely be a phone thing on your end. Dunno what you got as far
as the phone goes.
