There is nothing that would hinder you from creating an instance of SipUserAgent within your plugin and send any request you want through it. You mentioned INVITE ... what exactly are you trying to achieve by generating an INVITE from a plugin?

The sipx wiki documentations says "each plugin is provided with a /org.sipfoundry.sipxrest.SipHelper/ instance". From within my plugin I have access to a static SipHelper but it doesn't have support for creating a new ClientTransaction.
How can I initiate an INVITE from within my plugin?
I am using sipx version 4.4.
Also, are there any samples of plugins that use the bundled JAIN-SIP stack?
