I'm not sure what you are trying to do is supported or something that will
be maintainable. Other people install basic (low volume) systems on a
variety of virtual platforms without issue. Each time the system starts (or
is updated) all of the assets the web interface uses are unpacked
(java/war). Perhaps you should begin with a bare bones centos5 image
without postgres, Apache, etc. then install from report.
