Try referring to the polycom compatibility chart: http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html
As Todd says, the older models (ending in "0" or "1", 301, 501, 600, 601, etc.) don't support beyond 3.1.7 legacy firmware. A model 550 would support the 3.2.6 firmware without issue.
