George, Once you pointed out where the config file was, I was able to goto line 33 and see what it was:
I just realized that my LDAP admin user's password has an "&" in it. I saw some bugs on openfire about that. I changed the LDAP password to remove symbols, and I think that fixed the problem! YAY!
