I understand, and I hope that this is correct, that GIPS has a G.729
codec implementation. If so, what would it take to leverage this codec
instead of going through VoiceAge or Intel? Can the indemnification be
done by sipro in this case?

This codec is widely used, but have very restrictive license. So we
should have simple way
to enable and disable its support. Moreover there are at least two
well known commercial
G.729 implementation - Intel and VoiceAge (it has 'free' version under
Windows!). So I think
we should provide the way to use one or other. Since there was no
patches, conforming to
this criteria, G.729 is not checked in to the svn. If you'll write
such code even for one library,
it will have good chances to be checked in. :)
