I read in sipxtapi.h that it supports multiple instances of "user
agents". I would like to enquire about the limits of such configuration.
If there are 2 instances running, can they both play a sound? I guess they
can't both do recording.
Did anyone attempt this?

Yes. We run many instances of sipXtapi to in the unit tests. If you are
creating a client (e.g. softphone), there will be confusion over which
application owns the microphone and speaker. However, if you are building a
server, it should work.

My 2nd question is whether it is possible to use TCP for RTP transport.

No yet. Some ground has been laid, but it isn't fully implemented.

Also, is TLS functional in sipxtapi?

I haven't tested it in a while; however, it should work (might need to be
dusted off).
