I had a closer look at medialib, Alexander was right, sipxtapi can also receive rfc2833 DTMF. It's decoded in MpdPtAVT class in medialib. What sound device ID? That's not good. You have to record sound to a buffer using sipxtapi and do the operations on the buffer not on a device. Your program shouldn't need a sound card at all.
