Also note that we re-factored the whole audio device interface to easily accommodate multiple devices. There is now a framework to plug in input and output devices (e.g. for mics and speakers). We also use this framework for OS specific devices (e.g. OSS, Wave, proprietary) and so it is ready for someone to develop the ALSA plugin. It would be great if you were willing to do this.
