Right now main branch is thought to be stable. We may consider to branch off next stable branch soon, as we're going to make a next bunch of big changes. Anyway, policy is that we're doing our best to keep main branch at least buildable, at best - working and stable. Usually it may be not buildable for few minutes to few hours, and unstable for few days after new feature hits the trunk.
