It would be reasonable if some files are missing in case of aborted download. You may run 'svn up' in the top-level project directory - if it says 'At revision XXX', then everything is downloaded ok and is at latest version. If it starts downloading something, then it was missing or has been updated. If this does not help, we need more information about the compilation error you're seeing.
