Hey Greg, Thanks for the signoff. The layer service is described here:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SIS-28 I'm thinking we should make a JAX-RS web service according to the specs that Paul laid out. This could easily be an exposing service for e.g., OODT File Manager product types [1]. Think of a Product Type as a file type. So we might have the following Product Types: AIRS temperature profile (provides atmospheric temp) Seawinds Sea Surface Height (provides SSH) MODIS cloud fraction (provides cloud fraction) Then, each Product Type provides a GeoRSS set of points back corresponding to locations where there are measurements, and also recorded values. Those are the main ideas I have for now...any more are welcome. Thanks! Cheers, Chris [1] http://oodt.apache.org/components/maven/filemgr/development/developer.html On Aug 5, 2011, at 10:50 PM, Greg Reddin wrote: > On Fri, Aug 5, 2011 at 9:32 PM, Mattmann, Chris A (388J) > <[email protected]> wrote: >> Hi Folks, >> >> I posted a report for Apache SIS for the August board report: >> >> http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/August2011 >> >> Comments, feedback, welcome! > > Signed off.
