I'm thinking we should make a JAX-RS web service according
to the specs that Paul laid out. This could easily be an 
exposing service for e.g., OODT File Manager product 
types [1]. Think of a Product Type as a file type. 

So we might have the following Product Types:

AIRS temperature profile (provides atmospheric temp)
Seawinds Sea Surface Height (provides SSH)
MODIS cloud fraction (provides cloud fraction)

Then, each Product Type provides a GeoRSS set of 
points back corresponding to locations where there are 
measurements, and also recorded values. 

Those are the main ideas I have for now...any more are 
welcome.
