Can we toss the override name into the set as well? I sometimes do really sick things like load an image from a scsi machine onto an IDE one and then use a special override directory to undo the fstab generated by the master script (along with the grub.conf, modules.conf, ad nauseum). It would be nice to be able to select on the fact that I'm running with a strange override name.
I think that makes sense. I'll look into it further today.
I'm sort of wondering if you ought to reserve a name style for the master script's use. I'm thinking that the typical master script could turn into one rsync of the scripts dir followed by one 'for' loop that does the numbered master subscripts. This would make it real easy for someone to add special actions between phases of an image (eg insmod a driver or mangle systemconfigurator variables). It would also, unfortunately, create a maintenance nightmare for you because you'd have to wonder what liitle tweak someone did before they posted their bug to sf. A nice piece of versatility, though, because i've done both of the examples I mentioned.
Hmm. This is an interesting idea, and you make good points for and against it. Let's see what happens with the postscript support. It would be fairly easy to add, so let's see how the postscript stuff is received.
Thanks!
