Hey, Josh,
I've got you set up with CVS access. As you can see, I've accepted all
of the patches you've submitted, unmodified, except for the one on the
kernel sizes. And, as I've stated before, I really like the way you submitted the patches -- one patch per thingy fixed. That made it much easier to review and commit the patches.
Generally speaking, feel free to just commit bugfix patches. For feature modification patches, it's a good idea to submit those to the list for review first, just as you've done for the kernel config changes.
However, because it's all in CVS, worst case scenario if you commit something inappropriate, we can always back it out, so no worries. ;-)
Oh yeah, a comment about making RPMs. You may already know about our RPM creation policy, but basically when I post a stable release, Jerry DeLapp makes our official RPMs, and posts them to the "Files" area. We don't tend to make official RPMs from non-stable releases. However, anyone, including yourself, is welcome to make RPMs from any stable, unstable, cvs, or modified release, and I'm happy to post a link to those rpms, or post the rpms themselves in the user contrib area. In your case, I'd be happy to have an 'Altix boot packages' link or directory of RPMs.
And finally, be sure to look through the DEVELOPER_GUIDELINES file in the root of our CVS checkout.
Thanks for your contributions, and have fun!
Cheers, -Brian

Josh,
I'd like to give you CVS access. Can you send me your SourceForge username?
I'll follow up with a call or email on disclaimers, etc.
Cheers!

Brian,
My sf.net user name is bdaehlie. Thanks for the access. I would like to work more on the project, but the bulk of the work I was assigned to do has been completed.
At the moment I only plan to update the i386 and ia64 config files. Officially my goal is to ensure that the next major release of OSCAR supports SGI's Altix (ia64) servers. SIS was the biggest roadblock since it won't boot Altix out of the box, but with a 2.6.9 kernel it will. The reason (officially) that I did more work than just update the ia64 kernel was to speed up an SIS release supporting Altix.
