I have temporarily vectored into dying disk drive hell.  Will test openssl 
build when I complete repair (parts purchased today, so should be back at it 
tomorrow).

3.4.0 (with the mods outlined earlier) does build against FC2, so, I'm up to 
preening the %files sections in the as yet unreleased specfile.  Getting the 
build operational on rh9 will require debugging the problem with mklibs, and 
building on FC3 will not work with 2.4.25 kernel.  Both of those are tasks for 
a later minor or RPM sub-release.
