create_no_boot_symlink() does a copy to set a node to localboot. However, the resulting file is somehow not affected by umask. Suggestion: after copy, do chmod og-w.
I don't know if this will break something; however, I don't see why anybody should touch the boot configuration of the nodes besides the sysadmin. If this makes sense then I'll submit the very simple patch along with bug submission.
