I've just seen this issue with pfilter and SiS (both with the 2.4 and
2.6 kernel versions):

During my latest endeavor to install the beta OSCAR on IA64, I
discovered that all three compute nodes would suddenly stop during
different points in the file transfer. After a few moments, it would
drop to the console.

I turned off flamethrower support, and still had the issue.

Finally, I disabled pfilter on the head node and the file transfer
completed normally on every node. I almost never install pfilter, but
this was a special case.

Anyone seen this problem before? Also, has the OSCAR group thought about
removing pfilter from the normally-installed packages, so that it will
need to be checked for installation?

Thanks,

Jeremy
