Hi,

for the current SVN version of OSCAR trunk (3407) the flamethrower/multicast
deployment works, I just tested it with rhel4-i386. It needed a bit of
tweaking in systeminstaller-1.04-8oscar and a bit of debugging in
systemimager-3.5.3-6oscar.

Some things to have in mind:
- if you have a gigabit network, change the MAX_BITRATE in
/etc/systemimager/flamethrower.conf to something above 200M.

- when doing "Step 6: Network Setup" click the "Enable Multicast" and the
"Configure DHCP Server" buttons. The "Enable Multicast" flag is not
remembered, when opening this panel again, you need to click it again.

- you should open the "monitor cluster deployment" window (si_monitor)
otherwise you'll see (uncritical) error messages on the install clients.

- the overrides directory is not configured into the current systeminstaller,
therefore it is simply ignored in the multicast deployment. For OSCAR this
doesn't play any role, but we'll have to fix it in mksiimage. All tools from
systemimager (si_cpimage and relatives) deal correctly with the overrides
directory. I find per node overrides much more interesting than per image
overrides, but that's another story.

I also added a small SCSI adapter detection routine to the systemimager. If
there is no hardware.lst file in the image _and_ a SCSI adapter is detected, a
corresponding hardware.lst file will be created. All my hardware needs these
files and it's painfull to find out after deployment that your kernel doesn't
boot because it misses the scsi module in initrd...

Happy testing...

Erich
