I have included the libata, sata_sil, drivers specifically so that I can attempt to have a bootable CD which will mount the sata drive on a Dell Precision 380 workstation. These things use the Intel ICH7 controller which is new. The good: This script works, which solidifies a process to follow to get a custom flavor built. The BAD: The best I can get is a system that boots, and finds my server, gets the install script from my stored image, but then cannot find /dev/sda to create a partition table/filesystem. This using the kernel supplied with the standard flavor, but using the si_mkbootpackage script to customize the modules to be loaded. Using MY custom kernel, there is a problem: It starts booting only to fail at: "Warning: unable to connect to a console".
