Thanks, Bernard,
They all check out!

Hi Brian:
Just install the <arch>initrd_template RPM and if it installs sucessfully,
without complaining about MD5 sum mismatch, then it's fine.
Cheers,
Bernard

However, it was late when I responded. Turns out I built those on my
Ubuntu x86 laptop. Does that make that a non-issue?
I've also just uploaded ia64 boot and initrd_template rpms, built from a
RHEL4 Update 2 machine, but I did not find the configuration of my
machine as described on the wiki.
This file does not exist on my machine:
/etc/rpm/macros.prelink
And a "grep '__prelink_undo_cmd' /etc/rpm/*" found nothing.

Well if somebody knows how to update the spec file such that you don't have to
manually modify /etc/rpm/macros.prelink, that'd be great...

Bernard

Hi Brian:
The x86_64 specific RPMs are here:
http://www.bcgsc.ca/downloads/oscar/systemimager/official/
Thanks!
BTW, I assume you built the x86 RPMs - did you comment out the
/etc/rpm/macros.prelink file as documented here?
http://wiki.sisuite.org/SystemImager
No. I'll do a re-build, thanks!

Hi Brian:
That's weird - perhaps it has something to do with Ubuntu's rpmbuild.
What happens if you extract out the spec file and built it with 'rpmbuild -ba'?
The same!
Anyways you can also try using the 3.6.3 RPMs I have built here, but it
contains local mods which you may or may not want:
http://www.bcgsc.ca/downloads/oscar/systemimager/
Or, you can put your tar.bz2 online and I can build it for you.
Yes, I'd like that for this time. However, I do want to get things
working so that I can do this as part of my standard release process.
You can find it here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=259&package_id=278&release_id=399161
Thanks, -Brian

Bernard

Subject: [Sisuite-devel] Building RPMs
RPM gurus:
I'm building RPMs, and I've encountered the following problem when
building on Ubuntu on x86_64:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~% sudo rpmbuild -ta
/usr/src/rpm/SOURCES/systemimager-3.6.3.tar.bz2
error: No compatible architectures found for build
Are there changes we can make to the spec file so it will build
properly? Or is there some other solution?
Nope, I'm afraid I have no x86_64 boxes running an RPM based distro.
Thanks, -Brian
