Which version of SystemImager are you using?  I would suggest you use the latest testing code available here:

http://www.bcgsc.ca/downloads/oscar/systemimager/dev/

The code is still under testing and is not meant for production use!

P.S. Can you show the output of "rpm -qa | grep systemimager"?

Cheers,

Bernard

in my rsyncd.conf, i have no para of hosts allow, but i think it is for additional security, maybe that is not a reason for my problem,

You should have a boot module in your /etc/systemimager/rsyncd.conf. Mine looks like this:

[boot]
path = /usr/share/systemimager/boot

[overrides]
path = /var/lib/systemimager/overrides

hosts allow = 192.168.0.1/255.255.254.0

[scripts]
path = /var/lib/systemimager/scripts

[torrents]
path = /var/lib/systemimager/torrents

[opteron]
path=/var/lib/systemimager/images/opteron

Cheers,

Bernard

[Sisuite-devel] rsync error: unknown module 'boot'?

Hi,

I've been trying to install a node with SLES9-GA for a little
while for i386 and always run into the following problem:

start_syslogd

get_boel_binaries_tarball
rsync -av 172.20.3.8::boot/i386/standard/boel_binaries.tar.gz /tmp/boel_binaries
@ERROR: Unknown module 'boot'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1171)

killing off running processes.

write_variables
......

then shell out

i have checked the file, and it really located in the directory of "usr/share/systemimager/boot/i386/standard/boel_binaries.tar.gz" on imageserver,
i don't know what is the reason for this error, though looking through the website. could you give me some suggestions? thank you!
