now should we open a new branch for SC-OSCAR, or just merge the 2 trunks?

If we'll merge the 2 trunks then we could also tag a new official SC
release, in order to resolve the versioning incoherencies. I would
prefer this solution, also because, as Erich said, the release in the
OSCAR repository is not strictly specific to OSCAR, and it can be
considered a standalone application in all the aspects...
