Bernard,

maybe your /var/lib/systemimager/clients.xml is empty? AFAIK it
shouldn't trow an exception in this case, but you could try to define an
empty xml, like:

<opt>
</opt>

During the middle of imaging means that at the beginnig it was working?
and can you reproduce this problem or it just happened once?
