I want to PXE boot and append kernel parameters (ether=0,0,0x20,eth0). These parameters are required to set the NIC up for my switch.
I suppose I could type them in at the boot: prompt but I want to automate things - how can I configure for a PXE boot and supply kernel driver options (like -append for mkautoinstallcd)?
I think I've figured it out - edit the append line in pxelinux.cfg/default
But now my problem has gone up a level - the PXE rom doesn't manage to negotiate the duplex/speed with my switch and I can't see anyway to tell the rom what settings to use. If I boot my nodes and set the speed/duplex using kernel or module parameters then soft reboot I can use PXE, but if I hard reboot then the NIC can't negotiate again for PXE boot. Arghhh - who invented auto-negotiation!
