Hi All,

We deploy customised Linux distributions across the UK with the Systemimager
suite. Due to recent malevolent internet worms our upstream provider has
decided in its infinite wisdom and without consultation to just "drop pings".

Obviously this rather interferes with our installation when the image server is
pinged by a client prior to the rsync connection being started.

Having a slight suspicion that shouting at them won't help the situation (and
expecting the decision not to be reversed) I would be very grateful for a
pointer on how to modify the installation CD in order to remove the requirement
to ping the image server prior to installation (if this is possible).

Many thanks in advance.

Dan (a very happy systemimager user, but very annoyed sysadmin who is perfectly
capable of dropping his own ICMP traffic, thanks very much)
