it sounds like it is, but not serving the right data.
was 16.49.201.88 also your golden client?

you can run the following to get a listing:

rsync -avz 16.49.201.88::

if you see "root", then that's because you have a preparecleint instance still
running - you need to kill that rsync process & /etc/init.d/systemimager start.
