I am still working on getting the buy off from Network Security on the
dhcpd server in the DataCenter. Only been going on for 6 months now...
I was able to get the an image to fit on a floppy, that would run a sis
install remotely via the IBM RSA II's(Remote Supervisor Card), ability to
remotely mount a floppy image. To accomplish this I have to have the USB,
USB storage, USB OHCI, USB HID, USB HIDINPUT, USB HIDDEV, and USB HID
KEYBOARD, all set to Y in my linux.i386.config. This worked great with a
few minor changes of unused modules with the IBM x345's, but with the
introduction of a new platform (x365), I discoved two new devices that
needed patches above and beyond the modules in the 3.0.1 source rpm.
kernel-2.4.20-6.11-patch and bcm5700-7.1.9-2.4.22.patch ( with some hand
editing for Makefile and Config.in), for the Adaptec 6M Raid controller,
and the bcm5704 onboard ethernet.
After this an a lot of trial and error on which modules to turn off to get
it down to a floppy sized image, (that reminds me... Thank you for the
"make check_floppy_size" ), all is well... :)
Now onto 3.2.x... and god help IBM if they change their hardware again.
:-P

I'd look into dhcp(PXE) or CD-ROM if I were you. I'm playing around with
customizing boel_binaries & kernel and it's not fun. I think you should
try
PXE and Systemimager-3.20. PXE is pretty easy to setup, just follow this
guide:
