I have three AMD Athlon XP 1600+, with exactly the same hardware and configuration, I use it to try SystemImager 3.2.0 with a Kernel 2.6.5, where I install a minimal Fedora Core 2 installation, less than 600 MB, and when I finish the clone process in the client pc and reboot it crash with a kernel panic for crc error in the initrd file. Then investigate it I discover than the MD5 sum for the original initrd file in the golden client is not the same than the client and that the server golden client image.
I change the initrd file in the golden client server image with the golden client original file and clone again with success and boot ok. In the first moments I think that the problem was the Harddisk geometry information that sfdisk retrieve to the systemimager prepareclient and getimage process but I adjust this information to the correct one and the problem persist. I do not know what can go wrong in the prepareclient-getimage process between golden client and systemimager server. In additional I must to say that now I am using the diskette with local.cfg configuration file to autoinstall the client, in the prepareclient process I use the default options and in the getimage process I use the -goldeclient, -image and -directory options. The local.cfg configuration file is the systemimager documentation example with the same format. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
