I am trying to workaround the lack of LVM support in SystemImager and have started by updating the prepareclient and prepare_lvm.pl onto the golden clients from the tarball found here: http://download.systemimager.org/pub/unofficial/LVM_Support_by_Andreas_Eisenreich/
This seems to gather the lvm configuration into an /etc/systemimager/lvm.tab file when you run prepareclient, but the subsequent getimage still does not produce a viable install .master script that builds the LVM vgs and volumes based on the lvm.tab template. This is what I assumed the Server.pm would take care of in the above tarball but the Server.pm is identical to the Server.pm in SI 3.2.3. The tarball also fails to address the issue of needing the LVM binaries themselves and a LVM compatible kernel on the install disk/cd/etc. For this I had to create a new initrd and kernel and bundled a new boel_binaries tarball including LVM. I am curious how other people have worked around this limitation of SI, thx ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
