I'll add to that.... (detail, that is). The way it's all written, SI works best with a DHCP server around. But, the cool thing is that with the properly-configured hosts files and DHCP settings, you *can* create a setup where the nodes end up with STATIC addresses, and there's no special local.cfg changes necessary to do so. We have 18 nodes, and they all have static addresses (and corresponding DNS names for internal use and management).
Without a DHCP server in the picture, then you *do* have to start having local (per-node) configuration changes to incorporate, and while do-able, it's more work.
