Is it supposed to be empty? /dev is a pretty personal thing, to a machine, wouldn't one want /dev recreated on each client, during the autoinstall process? OTOH, the /dev in my image isn't empty, so... hmm.... > So, copying that "golden image" to the client naturally also produces > an empty /dev directory. ;-) > > Q: How can I get '/dev' on the golden client copied to the server? Did you check to make sure there were no --exclude lines hiding anywhere? /etc/systemimager/updateclient-local.exclude comes to mind, but that's for the client, not getimage. Is there a similar file that applies to getimage? I know that the prepareclient creates a file /tmp/rsyncd.conf.xxxx that it uses to run the rsyncd on the golden client that listens for getimage from the golden server - if this conf file had an 'exclude /dev' line, your image wouldn't have /dev. Is this the case? (btw, how does prepareclient generate /tmp/rsyncd.conf.xxx? There's not much docs about it in the manual...) -ben -- Ben Hartshorne email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ben.hartshorne.net
