[Sisuite-users] 2.6.9 Kernel and IA64

I've successfully built a 2.6.9 kernel, initrd, and BOEL from the top of 
the systemimager CVS tree, after fixing a number of stale WEB pointers 
in various *.rul files (I've forwarded the updated WEB pointers to Dann 
Frazier).   I'm building on a RHEL3 (update2) base.  However, during the 
boot of this kernel on an IA64 box, it can't find /dev/ram in the initrd:

IP: routing cache hash table of 262144 buckets, 4096Kbytes
TCP: Hash tables configured (established 8388608 bind 65536)
NET: Registered protocol family 1
NET: Registered protocol family 17
VFS: Cannot open root device "ram" or unknown-block(1,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 
unknown-block(1,0)

Has anyone successfully gotten a 2.6.9 kernel to boot on an IA64 box?  I 
was surprised to see the state of the ./patches/linux.ia64.config file 
in the CVS tree, in that it didn't have things such as cramfs nor devfs 
enabled.  I turned these on, to no avail.  Any/all suggestions welcome.
