Hello,

I am trying to setup SI (3.2.3-1) on a Fedora Core 3 system (installed on an AMD64 machine). Everything goes fine till here: "SystemImager comes with the si_mkbootserver utility to help configure a PXE server." (I want a PXE based installation on nodes):

# mkbootserver
This script may modify the following files:
/etc/services
/etc/inetd.conf
/etc/xinetd.d/tftp
You should already have a kernel and ramdisk to use.
Do you wish to continue (y/[n])? y
Ok, continuing...
Where should tftpd serve files from ([/tftpboot]?
Checking for a tftp server... found.
Checking if tftp server is H. Peter Anvin's tftp server... doesn't look like it.
Checking if tftp server is atftpd... yup - right on!
Checking for a running inetd... Not found.
Checking for a running xinetd... 14707.
Looking for update-inetd... not found.
/etc/xinetd.d/tftp does not already exist, so not backing it up.
Sending SIGUSR2 to xinetd...
done.
Looking for a tftp client... found.
Checking for loopback interface... up.
Does tftp server work... yes.
Looking for a pxe daemon... which: no pxe in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin)
not found.

I couldn't find a pxe daemon on your system. For RedHat
systems, you can install the pxe RPM for your release. For
Debian systems, you can try one of the debs i've built from the
RedHat package source. These packages should be available from
http://dannf.org/systemimager

pxe daemon installation failed

I found PXE stuff in this package: # rpm -q syslinux syslinux-3.07-1.1.fc3.rf [...] SYSLINUX is a boot loader for the Linux operating system which can operate off MS-DOS floppies. It is intended to simplify first-time installation of Linux, rescue disks, and provide other uses for boot floppies. A SYSLINUX floppy can be manipulated using standard MS-DOS (or any other OS that can access an MS-DOS filesystem) tools (once it has been created), and requires only an approximately 7K DOS program or approximately 13K Linux program to create it in the first place. It also includes PXELINUX, a program to boot off a network server using a boot PROM compatible with the Intel PXE (Pre-Execution Environment)

But it seems that SYSLINUX it is not enough. Do I have to compile this "PXE daemon" in order to have mkbootserver working? The documentation is not clear about this. Do I have to install and from where? With Google, all I found is this: http://www.kano.org.uk/projects/pxe/ Do I need SYSLINUX or not?

Thanks,
  Radu
