I'm hoping someone else may have run into this and can provide a solution.
I have a golden client that has been installed with RedHat EL 3.0 Update 4 on a Dell 2850. I've created an image of this configuration and have attempted to install it onto another 2850. The installation works fine, however, the new machine won't boot and complains about "root=/dev/sda1". It basically can't find it.
I can get it to boot by booting into rescue mode with a RH cd and running mkinitrd to remake the initrd files. Once I do this the machine will boot.
Is there something happening during the Systemimager installation that is somehow breaking the initrd? Does anyone know of a way to get this to work without having to gp through the process I described above?
