I am currently imaging both IBM and Sun Opterons from SI.   What kind of Opteron are you working with..I may be able to send you my boot Kernel….but you would have to setup PXE booting since it will not fit on a floppy…  ~3MB in size..

Subject: [Sisuite-users] Booting Opteron Servers

So I've been playing with both the 3.5 and 3.4 versions of SystemImager and can successfully pull images from Opteron boxes but I've been having no luck whatsoever making a boot CD for the systems.  The si_mkautoinstallcd doesn't know anything about x86_64 architecture.  I hacked around on that and managed to create a boot disk but then that failed horribly (would boot with a bunch of blank spaces and then a character and then nothing).

I then used the isolinux files from the SuSE 9.2 DVD and traced through what SI was trying to do to create a boot disk that seems to get farther but crashes looking for some .so files.  First time it was libc.so.6 so I untarred the boel_binaries file and added that into the disk image.  Now it's failing looking for librt.so.1 which I'm not sure is an actual improvement.

So has anyone had any success booting an Opteron box for imaging?  (Important details - Adaptec Ultra 320 SCSI, Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet, Tyan Thunder K8W motherboards).

Thanks in advance,
