Never mind, I can't edit live cramfs, for some reason vi reports it as
read-only file even though filesystem shown through mount command is rw.
So, I was able to add USELOGGER=1 to kernel append line to make logs more
verbose, but I can't modify the initrd to add debugging of my own. I now
get:
Jul 8 16:30:57 test1 root: logger: Successfully started syslogd!
Jul 8 16:30:57 test1 root: logger:
Jul 8 16:30:57 test1 root: logger: get_boel_binaries_tarball
Jul 8 16:30:57 test1 root: logger: rsync -av
192.168.0.168::boot/i386/standard/boel_binaries.tar.gz /tmp/boel_binaries
Jul 8 16:30:57 test1 root: logger: Killing off running processes.
This led me to believe rsync wasn't working, voila! One of the steps in
setup moved /etc/xinetd.d/rsync to /etc/xinetd.d/rsync.presis~. rsync wasn't
running, so I moved it back, turned it on, set up:
[boot]
path = /usr/share/systemimager/boot
comment = boel boot rsync dir
hosts allow = *
and am hoping this will get me further along.
BTW, I'm using 3.5.2 SVN version since this is for RHEL4 clone install (Fermi
SL 4).
