Karen, The first things we need to know is what version of system imager are you using and if you are imaging them with x86_64 RHEL3u? or i386 RHEL3u?. You have choosen a difficult machine to use as your first image but it is definitely possible to set it up. I am currently imaging about 10-20 a week. If you are using SI 3.2.3 and you are installing i386 I can send you a kernel to use on your boot floppy. If you are using SI 3.2.3 and you are installing x86_64, I can send you a boot kernel which will work but will have to be setup in a tftp server as it will not fit on a floppy.
If you are not using SI 3.2.3 I am not sure if my kernels will work for you. Please let me know and I will send you what I can to help out as this took me forever to get working correctly the first time. I figured I would seek your help by sending this email.I'm trying to image RedHat WS release 3. The Dell systems I have are Precision Workstation 370s with SATA hard drives. I retrieved my image from my golden Linux client to my image server. Now I would like to autoinstall my image to 20 machines. Which it the best method to use to autoinstall my image? I wanted to boot the systems from their own hard drive, but I am using grub instead of lilo and I could not locate the "updateclient" script. Also, I did not see si_mkautoinstalldiskette or si_mkautoinstallcd in /usr/sbin, nor was I able to find "updateclient" using the find command on my image server. Appears I only have the si_mkautoinstallscript. Am I missing something?
