Hello,
I'm giving systemimager a shot on a gentoo cluster.
The first decision I have to make is whether to use the systemimager
rpms, or go from source. Rpms are preferable because the install gets
documented in the rpm database. I downloaded the rpms, and tried
installing systemimager-server, and it listed a bunch of dependencies
(besides systemimager-common, -client, etc).

Several of the dependencies are available, just not recorded in the
rpm database (which is essentially empty).
Assuming all the dependencies are satisfied via Portage, should I just
have rpm ignore the dependencies, or should I just install from source
to be safe?

One of the dependencies listed is /sbin/chkconfig. That sounds like a
show-stopper for gentoo.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks,
-bryan
