dear SI users,

since quite some time i am very happy with SI 3.2.3 keeping my little xeon
cluster running. the frontend and file server acts as SI-server and
DHCP-server.

Now i try to add four very old boxes (SIS chipset for AthlonXP with onboard
ethernet). Generating the golden-clients image worked fine.
But in the autoinstall (i used a freshly prepared floppy) the rsync to get the
boel_binaries hangs and times out.

it cannot be the servers firewall because everything is open to the cluster
and the xeons on the same private subnet work fine.
i assumed that the network card is supported by the default kernel because
DHCP and the inital ping to check connectivity work ok.

couldn't locate any similar problem in the archives.
can anyone give me a hint how to figure out what's wrong .. or even how to
solve the problem?
thank you very much in advance.

regards,

   rochus
